Over the years our friends and family have seamlessly transitioned into our beloved customer base when bringing in a new family member such as a newborn puppy. Excitement surrounding the newborn puppy can be so abundant that sometimes the grooming requirements are over looked. Before purchasing or adopting a puppy into your family our team advisers and urges you to thoroughly understand the breed, the breeder and any potential future major health concerns accompanying that breed. It is crucial that this point not be overstated. Understanding what kind of dog you are taking in will assist you in understanding the time and financial commitment you are making.
As it is with human beings your puppy’s first haircut is most likely an exciting beginning of firsts. Many breeds don’t require a haircut ever throughout their lifetime. However some breeds require very regular maintenance to ensure their coat is not matted. Prior to your puppy’s first haircut our team would welcome the opportunity for you and your animal to walk through the hassle free consultation to meet our team and understand how we can provide value for you and your family.
Similarly to human beings, building and earning a puppy‘s trust requires time and patience and understanding. This process is the very first time your animal is introduced to the idea of grooming. We need to consistently remember that when approaching each and every one of our clients and their animals. Our mission is to build and sustain a lifelong relationship with you in your animal whilst educating and developing your understanding of how together we can contribute to the betterment of your animal’s livelihood and health. Your puppy needs to know that it is not threatened or find itself in a dangerous situation. We want your puppy to build a bond with it particular groomer and understand the reward process of a successful grooming session.
Dog Ear Cleaning
Dog ear cleaning is a standard form of grooming which our team undergoes every day regardless of the age or temperament of your animal we make a clear point within our process to make a natural inspection and clean of your dogs ear. Traditionally, subject to the type of breed, our team tends to find earwax buildup or dirt as the primary forms that require ear cleaning, however in a very rare case it may be something a little bit more severe and thereby requiring a deeper inspection and more thorough clean to prevent any and all health concern.
Anal Gland Expression
As it is with every other aspect of puppy grooming, anal gland expression is of absolute importance. At this stage of their life they very well may not require the expression of their glands due to their age and overall fitness health of a puppy. However it is crucial that your puppy understands the massaging of the glands and introduction to the potential need throughout the grooming process as an integral part of trust building and overall health of your animal. Early introduction to this process will simply provide familiarity to your animal when and if the time comes.
